Adding beams to a 5'10 basement space. From: craigbonney72@yahoo.co.uk Category: Foundations and Basements Email: craigbonney72@yahoo.co.uk Remote Name: 84.70.123.97 Date: 16 Nov 2006 Time: 03:47 PM
CommentsI have a large basement space that I would like to open up. It's around 5'10 high, but has brick supports holding the house up. What I would like to do is replace the brick supports with beams. This would allow me to make better use of this space. I am happy to get rid of the front and back brick supports and keep the middle ones if this helps. It would be such a useful space if the brick supports were not in the way. I am unsure how much work is involved, and how much it would cost.
Any help would be appreciated.
Craig.
