Old windows and adding insulation

I want to add 1" foam board to the outside of my house (over plywood siding), however some new windows were installed 2 years ago. If I add 1" of foam board, and then vinyl siding, the siding will extend 3/4" to 1" past the outside of the window. How do I deal with this so it is sealed from the weather?
