removing a bearing wallFrom: marcus_metcalf@excite.com Category: Carpentry and Framing Remote Name: 69.225.228.234 Date: 12 Mar 2006 Time: 07:06 PM
CommentsI need to remove a bearing wall, it is in the middle of a thirty foot span of a one story house. The ceiling is made of 2x6 joists perpindicular to the wall being removed. The joists are lapped over the wall. The roof has a 5/12 pitch with composite shingles. I would like to know how large of a beam to use to span 10ft, 15ft, and 20ft. Thanks
