I have a 32'x50' barn with a gambrel roof. I would like to install a second floor for an apartment. I would like to keep a clear span of 32' in the bottom or the garage area. I was going to use an wide flange i-beams that are 16'' high and 5 1/2'' wide. A total of 4 beams spaced 10' apart spaning the 32' distance. Can you tell me if the beam selected is sufficent or do you have a better selection of beam to be used.
