I wish to remove the entrance to a closet so that I can make the closet into an alcove. There is a 65inch long, 4x12 header over the opening that I want to remove. The closet wall is in line with a long hall wall. This one story house was built in the mid 70"s. How can I tell if this ccloset is part of a bearing wall?
