Don't want to use drywall for insulated ceiling of detached garage near Toronto...too heavy..requires joint compound..painting...dusty. The best alternative is using 18 1/2"X 10ft painted white soffit, designed for exterior use. I strapped the bottom chord of the trusses with 1X4 and covered with vapour barrier. The soffit material looks good in store..light..highly reflective, dust-free surface..ease of installation. Has anyone else used this stuff or something similar?
