Your sinking bathroom might simply need some minor jacking under the home. However, severe settlement is usually an indication of a soils problem, such as expansive clay, or uncompacted fill that's settled over the years. If simple jacking or shimming is all that's required, this is a fairly straight-forward process that should be reasonable (under $1-2K). However, if foundation underpinning and jacking is required, the expense will increase accordingly. We recommend that you consult with several local general building contractors who specialize in foundation repairs and settling. They can take a look at your specific situation and make recommendations based on the degree of settling you have.
