slight breaking noise

I get constant little creaking/breaking noise from walls and flooring when the house heating/boiler system is on. I was thinking that this is rafters/sheathing making the noise when expanding/contracting as they warm up and cool down. However I see many small cracks in the walls and door sides, window sides and many joints mostly in all rooms. My house is 2 years old. What do you think is the problem? Does this need urgent attention or this is normal in new houses?
