Re: copper countertopsFrom: info@builderswebsource.com CommentsAccording to one fabricator, "copper countertops are constructed using copper sheeting. The copper sheeting is formed around a substrate and laminated in place using a special adhesive and vacuum press technology. Copper, in its polished state, is an orange-gold color, but it will rapidly oxidize creating a rich, monochromatic patina. The top can be maintained with a special copper cleaner, or, as many clients prefer, the top may be left to oxidize naturally. These tops can be utilized with drop-in, self-rimming sinks only. Maximum width of the material without a seam is 47". Maximum length, before a field seam would be necessary, would be 10'0". Backsplashes can be supplied as separate pieces. Other uses include fireplace surrounds, or decorative wall panels." See examples at http://www.soupcan.com/ Builders Websource
