You are looking at a home in a designated flood zone and need an elevation survey done. Any competent "surveyor" can do this (see the yellow pages). Generally, a geo-technical firm or civil engineering firm can also provide this service for you. Since you live in a flood zone, you might contact a civil engineering company, since you may want to add some special drainage precautions on your own property. Just because it hasn't flooded in 20 years doesn't mean you're immune from a potential disaster. When it comes to keeping your home dry, it's worth consulting with a local engineering expert who can design a solution specific to your property. Whatever you do, be sure to check your homeowners insurance about flood coverage in your designated area.
