Many sump pumps in the range you describe are capable of discharging into either 1-1/4" or 1-1/2" pipes. In fact, many come with adapters. If the pump was designed for 1-1/4", the larger pipe will still work, but your discharge height will be more limited. We recommend using a backflow preventer and running the larger pipe all the way to the pump at which point you'll need a reducer to fit the existing pump. To be certain, however, we recommend that you contact the original manufacturer for confirmation.
