I have a three-season room that was added to the back side of my full dormered cape style house. The roof has a 3/12 pitch and the interior of the room is unfinished. The roof is vaulted and I would like to finished the ceiling. I would like to achieve a full vault but I'm not sure how to ventilate, since the roof abuts the side of the house.

I feel like the only option is to provide an air space at the top of the ceiling and install a traditional gable type vent. This would mean I would have to flatten or reverse pitch the top portion of the vault.

Is there a way to install a ridge type vent at the top of the roof where it meets the side of the building so I can retain the full vault?
