Our building inspector says, "no plastic underslab." I have in mind to use a grey PVC chase - 3" or 4", and run PEX tubing through the channel, so it isn't in contact with the soil or concrete, and if a leak develops I can easily replace the tube, pulling the damaged piece through with the new piece attached. Is there any authority that approves this practice? The inspector is looking for any engineer's okay. . . UBC or whatever.
