Redoing uneven bathroom floor

We want to redo our bathroom floor, the problem is the floorboards near the
tub are lower than the rest of the floor. The previous owner must have replaced
with wrong boards. Do we need to replace all the wood on the floor or is there a
way to even it out before we tile it. The house is about 40-50 years old.
