Under some conditions, vinyl can be nailed. However, I'm not sure I fully understand your question. You mention that you probably can't buy the same product your contractor used (Reynolds vinyl-coated aluminum), so you're looking for an alternative. We recommend you stick with a consistent product for the entire house. If you go to the Reynolds Building Products home page, and click on "Where to Buy" then click "Homeowner", you will find a list of distributors in your area that will sell you this same product.
