Broken double pane vinyl window

I have a broken piece of glass in my double pane sliding vinyl window (it's the piece that is stationary). I was able to have the dual pane made but they're not able to install the window until next month (I believe they called it glazing). I was wondering if this is something I can do myself? I noticed that there are 4 pieces of flashing that cover the first 1/4 inch of the glass all the way around it. I assume that once I get these out then I can take out the glass. Please correct me if I'm wrong and if you know, please tell me how to get these pieces out. Do they pull out or slide out or am I just going to make things worst by trying this myself? Thanks.

Jeff
