Basement framing

I am framing up a basement to be finished. A closet will be along one of the foundation walls. I planned to use a 4 mil vapor barrier before the drywall is hung. Will this be enough to help control mildew and a musty smell in the closet or should I also paint the walls with a waterproofer before framing? Also the floor is a concern too. I don't want moisture seeping through there either. Just don't want a call in a couple months that their clothes smell like a barn. Thanks in advance for your responses.
