With your mention of "blueboard," I assume you're referring to a wall and ceiling system using "veneer" plaster. Blueboard is a specially formulated wallboard system specifically designed for thin veneer plaster finishes. The special paper absorbs the moisture as the plaster is applied, assuring proper adhesion. The overall finish is about 1/16" of an inch or more, depending on whether you opt for a smooth finish or a textured one.
